Quest for Jackie Chan - "The Karate Kid" Australian Reviewer - Simon Cook

"I took the opportunity to watch the original Karate Kid movie at the same time as watching Jackie’s latest creation. The 2010 remake of the film stays pleasingly loyal to the 1984 original. The story contains the same balance of humour and growing friendship that made such a successful formula 26 years ago. The new film takes a step up with brilliant location shots from the crowded housing developments of Beijing to a stunning hilltop temple in Datong. Jackie play’s the loveable Mr Han brilliantly interspersed with both brilliant comedic timing and (at times) raw gritty sadness. I was surprised by Jaden Smith’s performance – this 12 year old can act! The film certainly is one for the whole family with a positive healthy message for adults and children alike. I loved it. 5/5" - Simon Cook (Twitter: CaptOz2002)
