Quest for Jackie Chan Trailer

May 15, 2010 — Finally, My home-made edits of the Quest for Jackie Chan Trailer is available for public view.

It has screened at Kinos #36 Film event in Sydney and also at the 2010 Colourfest Film Festival this year. I've had great responses and excitement from people who are Jackie Chan Fans across Australia who also want to know what's in store in August this year.

Here's the story:
Being Asian and living in Australia can be hard if you have dreams of becoming something beyond an doctor, lawyer, solicitor (no that there is anything wrong with that).

I want to break beyond the stereotypes and take a risk, a chance and go on an adventure of a lifetime. To do things I've never dreamt of doing (meeting Jackie Chan).

So from 1-21 August my ultimate goal is to travel non-stop across the major cities of Australia (Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart & Melbourne) delivering free workshops on for young people from culturally diverse backgrounds on how to run their creative projects and transform ideas into realities as well meeting up, collecting Jackie Chan mail and recording video messages to Jackie Chan.

I've decided to leave work and delve in my little piggy bank to get this baby project going.

First stop is Canberra and that will be a roadtrip with 6 young persons from Western Sydney who have martial arts background and together we will be choreographing a comedic fight sequence in dedication to Jackie Chan.

Hopefully, once I finish my trip around Australia, I will be home for a month and edit the video footage in the lead up to mid November, where I will take a risk and fly over to Kong Kong in the hope of personally giving him these messages on behalf of AUSTRALIA.

Ambitious? Yes. Nerve wrecking? Totally. I'm not related to Jackie Chan and he doesn't know who I am (I might look like some crazy Asian from downunder - I hope not) and Jackie Chan is super busy. So that is the dilemma. How does a nobody like me meet Jackie Chan?

Only time will tell.

Please join me on my "Quest".

The Karate Kid in Australian Cinemas 1 July

Just keep everyone's head up about JACKIE CHAN in "The Karate Kid" arriving in Cinemas in 1 July in Australia. The official site of this movie is with Sony Australia so do check it out for the session times.

Australia's been a little quiet about the anticipation of this movie so I do home to chat up the cinemas and get the buzz going and pump it up with with old school JACKIE CHAN FAN movie watching....something like that.....still working on it in partnership with the Aussie independent, guerrilla filmfare flick to-be "Quest for Jackie Chan" (To possibly hit family DVD players....).

Quest for Jackie Chan's legacy hits Las Vegas!

Thanks to twitter pal CaptOz2002, his recent trip to the United States has flaunted my home made Jackie Chan Shirt being in public view beyond the land downunder.
I'm not sure what he's doing there, but I'm sure to say, very excited by the viralness of the symbol of hope for me to represent the unheard voice of downunder Chan fans when I began my trip around Australia in August this year.
@questforjackie1 The shirt toured the streets and casinos of Las Vegas last night.

Quest for Jackie Chan Trailer at Kinos Sydney Film Event

Hi there fellow Quest for Jackie Channies!

I’m so excited about this but Quest for Jackie Chan Pilot Trailer will be having its world premiere at the Kinos Sydney film event.

I know, I know,. I haven’t yet started the “Quest for Jackie Chan!’ officially as yet and so far I’ve been hubcubating my digital media and social web 2.0 to hone these vital skills before this project revs up to snowball all the way.

The mock/pilot/ fake (whatever you want to call it) trailer (3 mins) is my personal reminder of my journey ahead, that I should not back down and its time to step up my game and finish it. Yes, it is daunting, yes I do have funny dreams like chasing Jackie Chan and then falling off a building only to have woken up in wet blankies. And then there was the dream that hundreds of the little Jackie Chan icon that I designed on my shirts picked me up and carried me away. (I should hold back on that 4th energy drink from now on).

So please, do come down if you are available to the event!

Date: Monday, May 17, 2010

Time: 6:30pm - 10:00pm

Location: Fraser Studios

Street: Behind the Clare Hotel on Broadway

City/Town: Sydney, Australia

Kino Sydney is an open-mic night for filmmakers.

Kino nights take place monthly in Sydney since November 2006. Participants make short videos specifically for Kino, then present the work to a sold-out audience. Each film is therefore a world premiere! The event includes music, live performances, giveaways, an open bar and buffet.

Kino encourages participants to learn about the craft of filmmaking by going out there and making films, unshackled by the burden of resources, time and money. Kino Sydney provides filmmakers of all skillset, background and experience with a support network to write, shoot and edit their projects as well as an opportunity to show the work to a large audience.

Kino is a place to network, meet cast and crew and enjoy great films. Everyone is encouraged to participate and given the means to do so, effectively blurring the boundaries between film makers and film watchers. Kino Sydney is a non-competitive, inclusive and accessible series of events which attracts close to 3,000 participants each year.

Kino Sydney is part of an international network born in Montréal in 1999. It is now a global movement, with cells in
Canada, the US, France, Germany, the UK, South Africa and now Australia.

Kino Sydney is organized by The Festivalists: Mathieu Ravier, Marianne Alla & Karina Libbey.

Jackie Chan Shirts For Sale!

In light of the Quest of Jackie Chan! I’ve have updated my redbubble account to hosting Jackie Chan! Shirts going for $30. This is really for those are really really want one shirt but can’t get a hold of me to grab a shirt.

For those who wanna get my hand silk screen printed shirts that were made in my sweat shop turned two bedroom unit (Boy! Mum ain’t happy when she sees that I’ve clogged up with sink with paint.). It's only $15!

In honesty, for every three shirt I print I’ve probably killed one due my negligence somehow. The most common bloopers include not squeezing the paint down properly, accidentally splodges on the sleeves, not drying it probably and throwing straight into the dryer hence it comes with paint splattered all over the other shirts. But I guess it makes each hand print shirt so special :p.

My physical store is at:

Swan Bakery, 144 Wattle Ave, Carramar, 2163, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA.

Its actually my mum’s hot bread shop but, she being so supportive of her “crazy” daughter campaign that she’s dedicated a shirt fitting room for me at the back. Gee…I love my Mum!.

I'll also be send one to Jackie Chan and his lovely assistant Victoria in the coming days. Fingers crossed that they will wear it and twitter!
